Thomas’ post about being panned, appearing here and on several bulletin boards and Myspace-type pages, had an unexpected response. The tepid review in HH was perceived by some as being not really a “pan” but a description. Others felt that the reviewer was either ignorant in some way or not really into mystified’s genre of music.

Certainly Thomas doesn’t mean to lash out at the reviewer. He has a right to his opinion.

But, all in all, Thomas was amazed and flattered by the groundswell of support he received, both from friends and from people he doesn’t know as well. Many defended his style of music, and particular works, too.

There was a general message in the responses: people like what mystified does (some of them), and you have to be yourself when you write, so don’t let reviews get in your way.

Thomas had no idea people would respond in this way. His Myspace traffic more than doubled the past 2 days, and one board had almost 500 views for the topic, when he usually gets 50-100.

Anyway, thank you to all who have been supportive. Thomas did not mean to “fish” for compliments, but he really appreciates the things people have had to say.
