Eight rhythmic tracks of sample-laden mixes from Opium Farmer (side project of Ghoul Detail) plus one long and sweet, (30 minute) drone from Mystified. Completely contrasting styles deliberately combined on one CDr just for you.

Mystified’s tribute to Forbidden Planet is no longer called “Planete Interdite”. It also has a new cover image. The music is still excellent– more info. here:

If you were quick enough to nab a copy with the original artwork, please consider it a “super-rare” collector’s edition.

Also, a new release– this one, a noisy electronic jamboree from last year that was never released due to some misunderstanding.

On February 20, 2008, the Americas and Western Europe experienced a total lunar eclipse, as the earth’s shadow moved across the moon.
Mystified composed a special dark ambient piece to celebrate this event, with elements of drone, ambience, homemade and world sounds, light dissonance, and tribal rhythms.
Eclipses have meant many things for many peoples over the years– from terrifying apocalyptic visions and predictions to simple but incredible feasts for the eyes. Make this piece, “Lunar Eclipse”, a feast for your ears.

“This single-track midform, “Accelerated Decrepitude” is a warped, chimey drone that slowly loses its shine over the course of its twenty minute duration. It has been pleasantly joked that those who enjoy footage of metal rusting or corroding in fast motion will especially like this release. . .”

“Children Of Space”
http://earthmantra.com/releases.php?id=32
Mystified makes in some ways a return to more ambient material. Having crafted several ambient works in the years of 2003 through 2006, Thomas took some time away from the genre, working on noise and drone music. However, he grew to miss smoother, quieter sounds, and found himself back on the ambient track in early 2008.
Which is not to say that Children of Space is just like all ambient. It does tend towards the dark, minimal side of the genre, and its trance-inducing aspects outweigh its melodic or space-musicky traits. If you like dark, fluid, hypnotic sounds this project is bound to appeal.
Jake Vida over at Pointless Black Recordings wrote a nice review of mystified’s “Cobweb Kingdom” ( 2007 Phage Tapes ). The review is one of several features to help kick off the return of his website. It’s free to check it out, so why not?:
