“Time” by mystified released

Timetheory Recordings is pleased to present the label debut of Mystified, who previously worked with Jon7.net Microlabel, providing 3 excellent releases. Now Mystified has created this new release, his first for Timetheory as well as the first installment of the “Time” series of recordings this label has embarked upon.

Mystified’s “Time”, consisting of a single medium-length track, entitled “Chronos” begins the series well, first incorporating realistic grandfather clock sounds, depicting the conventional image of time. As the recording continues, the feeling of time is stretched further, depicting time as a sort of digital stream. In this stream, time seems to pass both quickly and slowly. A listen in headphones reveals the sounds to be passing from ear to ear, and by listening closely one feels as though individual particles of time can be detected among the stream.

Mystified Installation

Mystified’s first ever audio installation took place quietly around 5 am last Saturday morning. Entitled “ASP”, the installation involved 3 discs with similar sounds, 12 tracks apiece, being played on “shuffle” mode simultaneously. The basic sound was water drops, and the effect was of a real barrage of drops, especially as the radio show host got creative and started putting layers of the piece over one another until there were as many as 10 layers.

Anyway, the first broadcast of ASP lasted about 18 minutes, and took place on ITDE radio FM, Carbondale, IL. More info. is available on the hosts’ blog:
