Vinyl Update

PR Gif

Yesterday, the test copies for “Pulse Ringer Pieces” arrived here in Saint Louis. They sounded incredible. Mystified is very excited about this 12″ lp.

Apparently, the entire order of 300 lps have arrived at Droehnhaus Records in Germany and will soon be available.

6 tracks of innovative,  pulsing ambient / drone, with some beats. It’s great music for relaxed listening.

“Tape Sludge” by mystified

December 15th, 2008 by admin

Tape Sludge Cover

Even in this CD-R era, some claim to like the sound of tapes, and “Tape Sludge” is an exploration of such sounds. Created almost solely from sounds recorded to tape 18 years ago, then run through many generative processes, “Tape Sludge” offers a wild and twisted ride through sounds in varying degress of decay. A few circuit-bent sounds are thrown in for good measure, but generally what you are hearing has been warped and restored– or destroyed– from almost 2 decades ago.

Thanks to markjondahl.com for the awesome artwork.

mystified’s “Science Fiction” cdr

December 12th, 2008 by admin

Science Fiction Cover

“Science Fiction” is a foray into cold and minimal Drone. Sometimes beats are featured, while often the pieces are Drone and simply that.

This would be a great release for fans of Ambient and Dark Ambient music. You could use it as a soundtrack to your day, and as a herald for the approaching winter.

50 minutes Length!! 75 copies pressed!!

Full colour glossy cover / Artful cd printing.

Excellent Noise and Atmospheres

D and D Cover

Android In Motion and mystified agreed to work separately on material for a split release. Though some time passed, and communication faltered, eventually in the holiday season of 2008 the two artists got back in touch, each with a set of excellent music.

Treetrunk hopes you enjoy this split for its variety and quality.

Special thanks for the art to markjondahl.com .

Music Like Machine Speak

December 5th, 2008 by admin

Chatterbones Cover

Somewhat by chance, Okkulth stumbled on this new Mystified material. Well, in fact, Thomas kindly offered it to us. No surprise there wasn’t much hesitation from our side, especially after hearing the innate beauty of ‘Underpass’ with its desolate droning sounds. A longform masterpiece! What else do you get, apart from another soundscape number? Possibly the first beats ever heard on Okkulth!

Thomas says: ‘Chatterbones’ is all about the bare basics of music. One longform piece was designed to emulate the language of machines, as they communicate with each other. Two short pieces portray machine sounds set to a beat. A second longform piece is all thick layers of Doppler-shifted drones, sounding like a freeway’s underpass.

Mystified would especially like to thank Okkulth Records for releasing this material.
